MONDAY MADNESS ON A MONDAY! MONDAY MADNESS ON A MONDAY! MONDAY MADNESS ON A MONDAY! MONDAY MADNESS ON A MONDAY! (That's my big title for the day!!)

1. Name 1 comedy movie you've seen. Grumpy Old Men
2. Name 2 black and white films you remember seeing. hmmmm. It's a Wonderful Life, and I also remember watching Shirley Temple movies in the summer on TV when we were kids. They were often the morning movie.
3. Name 3 dramas you thought were worth watching. I really haven't been to the movies a lot, ever.... so, I'm thinking.. Terms of Endearment, An Officer and a Gentelman, and The Color Purple
4. Name 4 television shows you watch on a regular (or semi-regular) basis. David Letterman Show, Biography, Jeopardy, and Martha Stewart (I'm really enjoying her new daytime talk show!)
5. Name 5 things that, in your opinion, are advertised on television too frequently. Women's feminine care products, up coming movies, toys, I'm sure I could think of lots of things watching TV, but I usually do stuff during the commercials and so I'm really not too bothered by them.

Now a post:
About Saturday.

Saturday was trick-or-treat day at the store I where I work. I was asked to man one of the stations, so I got to wear a costume. I came as a witch. It was pretty fun and the day flew by. I had an unexpected job interview following my shift. It was for a different position at the store. I think it went pretty well, and I should know the results of the interview before this week is out. I'll let my readers know the result. It would mean more responsibilities, longer hours, and better pay.

That's it for now. Here's hoping everyone had a safe but scary Halloween!!!
O&O!!!

HI!! I'M DOING MY BIG TITLE SO YOU WILL BE ABLE TO READ MY ENTIRE POST WITHOUT WAITING FOR ME TO POST AGAIN!!! DON'T WORRY, YOU AREN'T MISSING ANYTHING WHEN YOU MISS MY BIG TITLE!!

Ok, that was fun! Well, Meijer's was feeling the crunch of the rising gas prices, but now that gas is coming down a bit things seem to be improving. They are still being kind of stingy about giving many hours on the schedule, but now at least they are calling people into work when they have people call in, and also when business is up. I got called into work today for an 8 hour shift. That was good!

Well, it is time for some more Monday Madness. Maybe next week I'll actually do this on Monday, but don't hold your breath!

BLOGGING DEEP
(Sort of)

Well, I haven't blogged any really deep thoughts in a very long time. Sometimes I wonder why, and sometimes I think I know why. I think the deep bloggers are really letting the general public look deep into their souls, and most of the time I don't feel like sharing like that. But today, I think I do.

I'm going to write about my dad.
He died a little more than a month ago, and I really haven't said anything about it here. My dad was a great man, a wise man, and more than that he was one of the smartest people I know. I have a few childhood memories of my dad. I remember as a young student I didn't apply myself very well. It seemed I had a problem comprehending reading. My dad set out to help me do better. He used the "TIME" magazine. He would give me an article to read and when I finished he would quiz me. Personally, I didn't really enjoy this type of reading, but as I look back I appreciate that my dad really knew that I was smarter than my school grades showed. As an even younger child, I remember my dad sitting on the couch reading a paperback book. He was laughing out loud as he read and I asked him to share the story with us. He said that when we got older we would learn to read books without pictures. I looked forward to that day. My grades in high school never really showed my full potential, but I believe that my dad believed in me. He helped me through college. Somehow I knew that if I didn't' apply myself, the rug would be pulled out from under me. I applied myself and graduated from college with honors. I enjoyed 22 years teaching 4th graders how to read and many other subjects.

When I was a kid I thought my dad was strict. I think he was, but looking back, (and I discovered this shortly after I graduated from college), I see he had our best interest at heart. I grew up a good kid and grew into what I think is a good and responsible adult. Dad said that all of us kids should know how to be independent. He did a great job getting that point across. All 6 of us girls are good hard workers and productive members of society.
Thanks dad!

Of course he did not do this on his own. My mom also played a huge part in raising us.
