Hi all!
I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving. This is the first holiday I had off since I started working in retail. It was great to spend the day with family. Friday I had to work, but since I'm no longer in the service department, I luckily missed out on all the crazy early morning shoppers. I'm in prepared foods, and our area was sort of on the slow side. I worked from 7am to 3:30 pm. and then went up to deer camp. We had a group dinner there with the turkey provided by Dave and I. There was a lot of other food too, including chocolate cream pie! Yum yum! I decided not to stay over night because I had to be to work at 7 am the next morning, but I went back up after I got off work. John made some giagantic hamburgers and others provided brats and buns. One burger filled me up. Three days of eating too much is not good for the waist line, but I will try to take care of that issue in the next few weeks. It was a great weekend, and I'm glad I got to spend time with family and friends!

Well, Otto, I keep hoping that you'll post Monday Madness early but it hasn't happened in the past two weeks. I'll try to check back early this week to get it done.

Hi All,
The job is still going pretty well.

Dave went deer hunting last weekend. He came home from work Friday and we got the camper set up then we had dinner. He left after dinner. There was only one icy road in all of Gladwin County that night, and believe it or not, Dave found it. He turned onto Freeman Rd, which is only about 5 mins. from home, and the 5th wheel started to fish tail on him. He landed in the ditch. Thankfully nothing was damaged and he was unhurt. I called the wrecker and he was out in short time and back on the road. He didn't get a deer, but he saw one. He even took a shot, but he missed. Well, I say better luck next weekend. I'm looking forward to seeing everyone on Thursday.

Just wanted to update about the new job. It is going well, and I'm finding out just how much I have to learn. We are in charge of the deli, hot bar, cafe area, bakery, and the cheese wall. The first goal is to learn each of these areas, then I will focus on the responsibilities specific to the Team Leaders.

I was reading my sisters blog and found out about the 26 Things November. I will participate in this. It sounds fun and doable. For some reason the last word of the previous sentence looks wrong! Is it not a word? Well, I just ran the spell check and nothing came up except the word "blog" so I'm guessing it's ok. Once I finish my 26 things I'll post the link.

Ok, the good news is.... I got the job. Starting on Monday I'll be in the Team Leader training program at the store that currently employs me. I got a bit of a raise, and it's full time. I am looking forward to this new challenge in my life. The department? Prepared Foods. That includes the new hot bar being installed, the deli, and I believe the bakery.
